In 1958, Tudor launched the first-generation Tudor diving watch, the model of which was 7924, also known as the ‘big crown’, and was water-resistant to 200 meters. The new model introduced this time is named after the year when the diving watch was launched, following many of its aesthetic features, and is matched with the 39mm diameter case that became popular in the 1950s. The proportion of the watch is just right, and it fits the slim wrist. It is the ideal choice for small watch and vintage watch enthusiasts. At the same time, this watch also launched a new color, refreshing the Biwan series. The hour markers, hands, and minute scale on the stainless steel outer ring are all plated with gold, flashing gold, reminiscent of the original style of the Tudor diving watch. The winding crown shaft is made of frosted steel, which is a new feature of the Biwan series. The case and the winding crown are decorated with the embossed Tudor rose logo. The three echo each other and complement each other.
Tudor original movement MT5402
In 2018, three years after the launch of the first original Tudor movement, Tudor released its second movement series. The movement MT5402 has the functions of hours, minutes and seconds, with a diameter of 26 mm. It is specially designed for medium-sized models of Tudor. This movement inherits the classic appearance and polishing process of the original Tudor movement. The hollow automatic oscillating weight is processed by frosting, and the splint and the main splint are sandblasted and decorated with laser decoration. The inertia fine-tuning balance wheel is fixed on both sides by sturdy cross plates and equipped with non-magnetic silicon hairspring. The movement structure is ingeniously designed to ensure reliability, durability and durability. This movement is certified by the Swiss Precision Timepiece Testing Center (COSC). Its power reserve is up to 70 hours. In other words, if you take off your watch on Friday evening, you can use it normally on your wrist by Monday morning without re-winding.
Tudor watch took inspiration from the brand’s folding rivet straps from the 1950s and 1960s, and designed the Biwan 1958 strap. The rivet strap is famous for its original design features, and the links on both sides are connected by rivet heads, presenting a unique stepped structure. The Biwan 1958 watchband incorporates the above two classic aesthetic features on the one hand, and uses solid links to integrate modern manufacturing technology into it. There are three straps available for this model, in addition to the steel strap, the other two are discount brown straps; and a black textured strap with gold stitching. This textured strap is made by a 150-year-old family-owned company in St-Etienne, France, using traditional jacquard technology. The textured strap is a major feature of Tudor and is considered an innovative design.
